NEWS: Drake Ties The Beatles' Record Of 14 Simultaneous Billboard Hot 100 Hits

Drake Ties The Beatles' Record Of 14 Simultaneous Billboard Hot 100 Hits

In addition to having every song from "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Drake has now tied the record for most songs simultaneously on the Hot 100.

In recent months, The Beatles have popped up in hip-hop discussions thanks to Migos and Kanye West, but Drake is perhaps the only rapper who's currently competing with their run of dominance in the mid-to-late 1960s. In the wake of releasing If You're Reading This It's Too Late, he's already gotten each of the tape's 21 tracks onto Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and now he's tied the Fab Four's record for most simultaneous appearances on the Hot 100, with fourteen songs currently charting.
Drizzy previously came close to this tally in October 2013, when 12 Nothing Was The Same Tracks hit the chart, but he now ties a record that's stood since 1964. Last October, he topped another Beatles record when he notched his 72nd career entry in the Hot 100. Check out his current chart positions below:
No. 16, “Only,” Nicki Minaj featuring Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown
No. 17, “Truffle Butter,” Minaj featuring Drake & Lil Wayne
No. 26, “Energy”
No. 49, “Tuesday,” iLoveMakonnen featuring Drake
No. 52, “Legend”
No. 58, “10 Bands”
No. 68, “Blessings,” Big Sean featuring Drake
No. 70, “Know Yourself” (debut)
No. 81, “No Tellin’ ” (debut)
No. 82, “Preach,” featuring PartyNextDoor
No. 83, “6 God” (debut)
No. 84, “Used To,” featuring Lil Wayne
No. 95, “Now & Forever” (debut)
No. 97, “6 Man” (debut)

Is this dude a legend yet?

NYC's Biggest Pot Farm Discovered: Cherry Factory Owner Was Running A "Breaking Bad" Style Drug Empire!
A cherry manufacturing king committed suicide in a Brooklyn factory after his business was exposed Tuesday as a “Breaking Bad”-style drug den. Investigators were searching for documents and questioning Mondella for about five hours when they came upon a flimsy-looking shelving system. Inspectors were sent to the Red Hook business about 8 a.m. to uncover alleged pollution in the waters near the cherry plant, investigators were hit by a faint smell of weed. After Mondella shot himself in the head, investigators were shocked to discover three bags holding about 100 pounds of pot and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash stashed in the factory. In the space below the plant, they also found numerous high-end vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce, a Porsche and Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

J. Cole Announces "2014 Forest Hills Drive" Tour [Update: Tour Dates Announced]

J. Cole will be heading on the road for a "2014 Forest Hills Drive" tour.

J. Cole's new album may be his most successful one yet, not only that, it could very well be his best project since his mixtape days. 2014 Forest Hills Drivehas already gone gold, and is quickly en route to achieving platinum certification, as it hovers near the 800k mark in total sales.
With the album still in rotation and staying strong on the charts, the rapper has announced a tour to go along with it. This is probably the most promotion/marketing he's done for the album yet, as he dropped it quietly without any official singles (although "Apparently" seems to be the chosen song, as it received an official music video and is now climbing the Hot 100 singles chart).
Today the rapper revealed a flyer for the tour, which you can peep up top. Stay tuned for the full list of tour dates.
[Update: Tour Dates Announced]

As a guest on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club, Kanye West talked with Angela Yee, Charlamagne and DJ Envy about his polarizing Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost and revealed that an all-black colorway is indeed in the works- though they won't be an easier to get your hands on.
While Kanye previously went on the record as saying 'everybody who wants Yeezys will get Yeezys,' the initial launch indicated that his statements might not be entirely true.
“Yeah, I didn’t want them to be limited actually," West said in response to hearing aftermarket prices of the Yeezy Boost. "That’s something that the company did. I really want as many people to get them as possible. I don’t want the price to be $350. I don’t want to play this sneaker culture game where they be reselling them for high prices and stuff. I just want people to have what I made. Ain’t no limited release of the College Dropout."
Yeezy also reiterated the fact that he has much more creative freedom working with Adidas, so he's not at all discouraged with the way things have played out so far.
“Yeah, I do have a lot more [control]. At least I can do something. But any relationship that starts off, you ain’t gonna have all the control. It’s a marriage — usually the first year of any situation is the toughest.”
In comparison with the Nike Yeezys, Kanye says the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost is actually better to play ball in, which is something Atlanta Hawks' guard, Jeff Teague, plans on doing tonight.
“You can actually play basketball in this one better than the other ones," West replied. "Because first of all, it's got Boost, which is the best technology."
Those who are still willing to shell out $350 for the high-top sueded Yeezy Boosts can circle February 28th on their calendar when the kicks will release worldwide.

NEWS: Tink Covers The Fader

Tink Covers The Fader

Tink covers the new issue of The Fader.

Tink is poised for success. With Timbaland backing the rapper-slash-singer, and a strong buzz thanks to the producer leaking a few records during a Breakfast Club sit-down last year, she has the rap game's full attention. The Fader capitalizes on that today by nabbing the soon-to-be star for the cover of their new issue.
For the interview, The Fader heads to Chicago to visit the suburban home that Tink grew up in, where she lives to this day, with her parents. We get to hear about Tink's beginnings in music, how she connected with Timbaland (and eventually signed to his imprint Mosley Music Group), as well as her upcoming debut album due out via Mosley/Epic.
"Before I met Timbaland, I didn't have a specific sound," she says during the interview. "I was just fishing for beats in my email, picking out things I liked. With Timbaland, it's a bit more organized."
She also speaks on the female competition within the game, "There's a broad range of male rappers, so if they're going out on a limb and they sound different, it's okay because we have twenty other rappers doing what the radio wants. As far as females, there aren't as many, so if you want to compete, you have to sound just like this because that's the only thing hot right now. If you want to compete, you have to look like this."

NEWS: Wiz Khalifa Reportedly Building A Case Against Amber Rose To Gain More Custody Of Their Son

Wiz Khalifa Reportedly Building A Case Against Amber Rose To Gain More Custody Of Their Son

Wiz Khalifa is reportedly working towards a claim that Amber Rose is an irresponsible parent in an effort to be granted more custody of their son, Sebastian.

Yesterday, things got dramatic when Khloe Kardashian decided to call Amber Rose out on her comments regarding Tyga and Kylie Jenner's relationship. Amber criticized Tyga for leaving his wife and child, and dating a 17-year-old, which made Khloe decided to hop on Twitter and defend her half-sister, Kylie. From there things only got crazier, with insults being thrown back and forth. However, one detail that went a little more under-the-radar was Amber's ex, Wiz Khalifa, deciding to follow Khloe amongst the chaos.

Tension has been high between Wiz and Amber since they decided to call it quits last year, and their son, Sebastian (or Bash), has often been at the center of it. A new report from TMZ now claims that Wiz is currently building a case against Amber in order to get more time with his boy. The tip lists a few key points that Khalifa will be using to argue that Amber is not a responsible parent.

The document obtained by TMZ claims that Amber often "stays out all night", has a "volatile" relationship with her mother, and (for real) owns a dog that eats its feces and subsequently licks the kid's face.
Whether or not there's any truth to the claims is up to a judge to decide, if it makes it's way to court. We'll keep you updated on when legal docs are filed.

NEWS: Jas Prince Seeking Further Compensation From Cash Money For Discovering Drake

Jas Prince Seeking Further Compensation From Cash Money For Discovering Drake

The man who discovered Drake, Jas Prince, is demanding more cash money from Cash Money.

Jas Prince is still trying to get money off Drake's career, a feat he attempted back in 2012 when he sued Drake's management. Now he's coming after Cash Money and Birdman directly. More legal trouble involving unpaid dues for the Cash Money label.
Back in 2012, Jas filed a lawsuit after being stiffed on payments from Drake's management-- he also claimed Drake himself was being cheated out of money from his management (sound familiar?). Perhaps the lawsuit was never completely settled, because now Jas has filed legal documents demanding that Cash Money open their books to find out how many millions of dollars Drake has made for the label.
Jas says that he's been compensated only $2 million for discovering the Toronto rapper, but he believes Drizzy has made Cash Money $40 million. Simply put, he's looking for more dollars. He's not the only one coming at Cash Money right now, with recent lawsuits from both Weezy and Turk targeting the label.

NEWS: Drake’s New Mixtape Breaks Spotify Record

Drake’s New Mixtape Breaks Spotify Record

Drake's surprise mixtape broke the Spotify record for most album streams in its opening week.

If you’re reading this, then its not too late to find out that Drake broke another record for his surprise project last week.
After selling a whopping 497,602 units in the opening week, it’s now being reported that Drake broke a Spotify record for most album streams as well. Doing 17.3 million streams within a 3-day span, this feat set the record for the most streams for an album in its debut week in the U.S. But wait, there’s more. The project also broke the record for most streams in a day for an album as well, doing 6.8 million streams on Saturday, February 14th.
However, this isn’t Drizzy first go around with a record-setting album. Back in 2013, Nothing Was the Same received the same accolade as above with 15.8 million streams the week it opened, meaning Drake just broke his own record.
If you haven't yet, be sure to read our review of the album here, and stream that bish right here.

NBA NEWS: Carmelo Anthony Announces He's Done For The Season

Carmelo Anthony Announces He's Done For The Season

According to reports, Carmelo Anthony has played in his last game of the season. As expected, Melo will undergo knee surgery and will be leaving the Knicks in a perfect position to land the #1 overall pick in the 2015 draft. Here's looking at you, Jahlil Okafor.
The Knicks' All-Star forward missed their last regular season game, a loss to the Magic, though he did play for the entire All-Star game at Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
Currently riding a five game losing streak with the league's worst record (10-43) it was a no brainer for Carmelo to shut it down, get healthy, and put the Knicks in a position to land a franchise player in the off season.
Knowing the Knicks though, they'll probably end up drafting some 7'0 center from Yugoslavia who will never step foot in the NBA.

Kanye West Performs "Jesus Walks", "Only One" & "Wolves" On SNL 40

Kanye West performs three songs on the Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special.

After a busy weekend that included the unveiling of his "Yeezy: Season 1" collection with adidas, Kanye West went to NBC Studios to perform on the 40th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live.
Kanye is part of a massive array of guest stars that are set to appear on tonight's show, including, on the musical side, 50 Cent and Paul McCartney.
After being announced by Christopher Walken, we hear a familiar beat. The camera switches to Kanye, who's lying on the ground under an illuminated white sheet, rapping the lyrics to "Jesus Walks." Kanye then gets up to sing "Only One," his recent single dedicated to baby North. He finishes with his newest leak, "Wolves," and is joined on stage by Sia and Vic Mensa. This is surely the biggest stage Mensa has performed on thus far into his young career.
What are your thoughts on "Wolves"?

Kanye West Speaks On "Yeezy Season 1" Show & Being Accepted As A Designer
Kanye West compares his status as a celebrity designer to Eminem's as a rapper. "You don't think 'white rapper,'" he says. "You just think Eminem."
Fresh off a week that included the debut of his new fashion line with adidas and the premiere of yet another new song from his upcoming albumKanye West sat down with Complex and opened up about his progress in the fashion industry, reactions to the show, and being accepted as a designer.
"I do think that it’s been a strong week," he said. "It’s been a strong past three years. From the messaging leading up to it, to that front row, to the presentation, to the price points we want to hit, to the purpose of getting product to the people. And, you know, having a think tank that's equal to what a normal fashion house would have, but for the people."
Comparing his status in design to Eminem's as a rapper, West went on to reflect on channeling his creativity in fashion in the same way he was able to more than ten years ago with his solo debut album.
"I feel like I’m Eminem, you know?" he said. "You don’t think 'white rapper.' You just think Eminem. You don’t think celebrity designer, straight designer, black designer, all these types of things that kind of held me back conceptually in being accepted as a designer. You just think of those words. But when those moon boots come out, you put them on your feet and just swag out and go somewhere with your friends, those words don't matter.
"I’m just happy that I was able to apply the mentality and passion that brought the College Dropoutinto existence," he added. "Now, I may finally have enough of a point of view and understanding to apply and create. Enough of a vision to make. There’s so many far more talented designers but I just have a perspective and a heart. And I’m gonna give all the heart and perspective that I can."
Tracking his progress from "single bachelor rapper" to his current place in life, West went on to reference his mother's teachings about being a creative.
"When I was a single bachelor rapper, and with the access that I had, I realized that I wasn’t respecting women the way I needed to," he said. "God has an amazing way of teaching people, and literally for two years I lived with all alpha females and a daughter, you know? [Laughs] So I had to learn to really do what my mother taught me, and become the man she always knew I could be, and bow as a creative. You know those photos that you see with me getting on my knees in front of the paparazzi to fix Kim’s pant leg? That's what I want to do for the world. I want to get on my knees and fix everyone’s pant leg, if they’ll have me. If they’ll have me make that adjustment. I want to look at a festival and see what all the kids are wearing, and then say, 'Hey I want them to feel like they’re wearing the exact same thing, but somehow just a more informed version.'"
Returning to his Adidas launch event, West said, "I just felt that my life was dependent on the success of this show. I set myself up to win or fail. To win or fail. And people were just waiting. 'Is he gonna do it?'
"It was almost like the Super Bowl of culture in a way," he continued. "It was like a David Blaine move in some ways. Are the sharks gonna eat me alive? It was, 'Will he be eaten by the shark tank, or will he survive? Can he hold his breath for this long?' The three on the back of the Tyvek jacket invites was about the three years that I had been off the runway. And I had to hold my breath for that long."

Daylyt issues a warning to Tyga about dissing Drake and threatens to take his chain.
Daylyt is mad and he is mad at Tyga.
The California lyricist recently decided to put out his own video warning Tyga to never negatively communicate about Drake or his camp again.
"Don't say anything about Drake," Daylyt said in an angered tone in a video obtained by Vlad TV. "Not one tweet, not nothing or we are going to come touch you bro. We came and took that chain the first time and we can do it again."
He begins the video talking about his allegiance to Toronto rapper and his OVO movement.
"I just want to make some shit known and make some shit loud and clear and niggas better get my message," he said. "Tyga, all that shit, just let it go... I don't wanna see no more tweets, none of that shit my nigga. Like I told ya'll I'm fucking with Drake. I fuck with the OVO movement. It's official my nigga so it's ride or die and I'm riding or dying with OVO. I don't give a fuck about you from Cali. That shit don't mean nothing to me bro."
Tyga recently called Drake a "bitch" on Twitter after he heard an alleged subliminal diss on his If You're Reading This It's Too Late album. The tweet was quickly deleted soon after. Late last year Tyga said that Drake was "fake" to him.

TOURS: J. Cole & Dreamville Announce Forest Hills Drive Tour

J. Cole & Dreamville Announce Forest Hills Drive Tour

The real is back.
As his peers tear up NBA All-Star Weekend with new projects and huge shows, J. Cole decided now is the time to announce his next move. Via his Twitter account, J. Cole let the news go that he and Dreamville are hitting the road for the first leg of the Forest Hills Drive Tour. The first 20 dates are all scheduled for smaller markets that don’t always get the big shows in their town which ties in with Cole’s album title and dedication to his home town. The first leg of the tour will make 20 stops and Cole is giving the tour a cinematic feel. Both flyers are designed like movie posters and the tour dates will be broken down into acts, the first called “Hometown.” Joining Cole on tour will be Bas, Cozz and Omen. Check out the dates and flyers below.

The Dreamville team keeps everything in-house and the tour looks like it will be a representation of the crew’s tight-knit relationship. In an interview with XXL, Bas broke down the team’s unity. “It’s a level of trust we all reached with each other. It probably came first from Cole getting to a point where he’s empowering our executives and everyone. I think that’s something we all do well. We empower each other. That builds a great amount of trust. Plus, it’s easy. The vibes, it’s so naturally inclined. Cole and I, we go out and party on the road all the time, so to do a song like “Lit” we can go to the studio and just have fun with it because it’s a vibe that comes natural. Plus, we all believe in each other and all we want to see everyone succeed. Even down to the production [being] in-house. Ced, who produced “Lit,” produced like four joints on Last Winter, he’s Cole’s stage manager on the road. Ron Gilmore, whose pretty much produced on every song—he has an executive producer credit—he plays keys for Cole on the road. These are all people that come up together. It’s a natural thing.”
