NEWS: A$AP Rocky Speaks On A$AP Yams' Death
A$AP Rocky Speaks On A$AP Yams' Death
A$AP Rocky speaks at length on the death of A$AP Yams for the first time.
If you've followed A$AP Rocky's career, you know A$AP Yams has always loomed over it. From creative decisions, to promotion, to production choices, Yams was always around. The two were also good friends, or "brothers" as Rocky described their relationship in a recent Instagram post, so it was clear that the rapper would be deeply affected by Yams' sudden passing. Billboard caught up with Flacko, following the screening of his acting debut, "Dope", as well as a short musical performance at Sundance.
"That performance --that was just going to stop me from crying," he said, explaining why he decided to cut his set short. "I had to address it, because the whole time I was rapping and I wasn't into it, which is sad, but I just gotta keep it real. I can't front. It's even harder knowing that I gotta fly out in less than an hour just to go bury him. That's the part that eats at me."
Rocky later cleared up assumption-based rumors that Yams had passed from a drug overdose. "People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs --he didn't overdose on any drugs," he explained. "I feel like people feel that way because that's all he's in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic."
As far as the rapper's next project, Yams is still serving as executive producer, alongside celebrated musician Dangermouse. "I'm really intrigued for people to hear how that combination sounds. Yams manifested his powers into it."

NEWS: Tupac Biopic Set To Film In June
Tupac Biopic Set To Film In June
The upcoming film based on Tupac Shakur's life is due to begin production in June.
The announcement of production on the Tupac biopic is becoming something of an annual news article. With that being said, this time it seems to be for real. Producer Randall Emmett has confirmed that the long-awaited film on Tupac Shakur's life will begin filming in June.
What may have held the film back -- and for good reason -- is earning the rights to use Pac's original music, something that has been detrimental to biopic's past (the infamous Aaliyah Lifetime film among them). Thankfully, we will be hearing Shakur's work in the movie, which will follow him through his early years, to his mainstream success, and ultimately to his untimely death.
While there have been plenty of documentaries (of varying quality) on the late rapper, this marks the first venture into recreating Shakur on film, and will surely be a tough casting process.
Watch the full interview with Randall Emmett below.

NEWS: Posthumous Lil Snupe Album To Be Released In February
Posthumous Lil Snupe Album To Be Released In February
Lil Snupe's "RNIC 2: Jonesboro" will be released February 10th, 2015.
Lil Snupe was only 18 when he was shot and killed following an argument in 2013. The rapper was just rising to prominence as an understudy of Meek Mill, on his way to becoming an official Dreamchasers artist. While the rapper was eulogized on the emotional Dreamchasers 3 song, "Lil Nigga Snupe" (which was preceded by a freestyle from the late artist himself), we've yet to here any of the unreleased material that was rumored to exist.
It appears that the Snupe files are now finally ready to be shared with the world, as it's been announced that RNIC 2: Jonesboro (the follow up to his debut project, RNIC), will be released through iTunes as of February 10th. You can pre-order the project and view the full tracklist here.
