NEWS: Is Meek Mill Dropping A Mixtape Next Month?

Is Meek Mill Dropping A Mixtape Next Month?

Meek Mill will be dropping new music June 5th.

Meek Mill's Dreams Worth More Than Money hit its first delay when Meek Mill went to jail last year, but since he's been out, anticipation has been higher than ever. It's been rumored that the rapper will be dropping the album in time for summer, but a new update suggests we could be getting something else entirely first.
My Mixtapez has announced that #MeekSeason will begin on June 5th, which either means it'll be the start of a series of new records, or hopefully, a new mixtape.

Either way, we'll be getting new music from Meek in a few weeks, and we're happy enough just knowing that. Check out the mock up cover above.

NEWS: Drake’s New Mixtape Breaks Spotify Record

Drake’s New Mixtape Breaks Spotify Record

Drake's surprise mixtape broke the Spotify record for most album streams in its opening week.

If you’re reading this, then its not too late to find out that Drake broke another record for his surprise project last week.
After selling a whopping 497,602 units in the opening week, it’s now being reported that Drake broke a Spotify record for most album streams as well. Doing 17.3 million streams within a 3-day span, this feat set the record for the most streams for an album in its debut week in the U.S. But wait, there’s more. The project also broke the record for most streams in a day for an album as well, doing 6.8 million streams on Saturday, February 14th.
However, this isn’t Drizzy first go around with a record-setting album. Back in 2013, Nothing Was the Same received the same accolade as above with 15.8 million streams the week it opened, meaning Drake just broke his own record.
If you haven't yet, be sure to read our review of the album here, and stream that bish right here.

NEWS: DRAKE JUST DROPPED A 17-TRACK MIXTAPE CALLED 'IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT'S TOO LATE'

DRAKE JUST DROPPED A 17-TRACK MIXTAPE CALLED 'IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT'S TOO LATE'

Jesus Christ, what a night. A little over two hours ago, I was standing on Flatiron Plaza in the heart of Manhattan watching Kanye West on stage with all of his G.O.O.D. Music friends (Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Travi$ Scott, and Waka Flocka Flame) do like every mob song ever. Rumor has it that Drake was there, too, standing about 15 feet behind me. Turns out, while Drake was standing there, he was plotting the release of a long rumored mixtape. Because, friends, the mixtape is here. It's called If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and you can cop it on iTunes. I haven't listened to it yet because it's still downloading, but it's probably awesome. Is it a coincidence that tomorrow (February 13) is the six year anniversary of So Far Gone? Probably not. Tracklist and stream below.
1. Legend
2. Energy
3. 10 Bands
4. Know Yourself
5. No Tellin’

Juicy J Reveals Cover Art & Release Date For "Blue Dream & Lean 2"

Juicy J unveiled the cover art for his upcoming mixtape "Blue Dream & Lean 2", hosted by DJ Scream.

Juicy J has been working on his album THC: The Hustle Continues, but while we wait for the album he'll be holding us over with a new mixtape.
Juicy J's first Blue Dream & Lean mixtape dropped in 2011 and really helped his stock rise in the rap game, giving new life to his solo career. Soon he'll be following it up with a second instalment, Blue Dream & Lean 2, which will be hosted by DJ Scream once more. Today the Taylor Gang rapper revealed the official cover art for Blue Dream & Lean 2 on Instagram, as well he announced the release date: February 16th.
Recently Juicy delivered a freestyle over J. Cole's "Tale of 2 Citiez", likely off the mixtape. Revisit Blue Dream & Lean below, and be on the look out for BDL2 next week.

ARTWORK: Young Buck Reveals Cover Art For "Before The Beast" Mixtape

Young Buck Reveals Cover Art For "Before The Beast" Mixtape

Young Buck readies a solo mixtape, possibly to drop during the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend.

After giving us their first comeback EP with The Beauty Of Independence last year, G-Unit will release their follow-up EP in March, The Beast Is G-Unit. The EP has locked down a release date for March 3rd, but before then, Young Buck will warm us up with Before The Beast.
There's no denying that Young Buck has been killing his verses since the Unit re-formed, and we'll be getting plenty of that with this solo mixtape. The project doesn't have a release date set, but it'll likely impact during the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend.
HHNM reports that the tape will feature Lloyd Banks, Kidd KiddTony Yayo, Cap1, Lil BoosieLil Reese, Yo Gotti and Trae Tha Truth. Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for it, and peep the official cover art up top.

NEWS: Kanye West & King Louie Were In The Studio Together

Kanye West and King Louie were in the studio recently. Will Louie land another feature on Yeezy's album?
Yeezus was filled with unexpected moments, but King Louie's feature on "Send It Up" was one of the biggest surprises. Since guesting on the experimental record, Louie has continued to release some of Chicago's best music, and may or may not have inked a deal with Drake's OVO Sound label (if not he's campaigning pretty hard for it).
Well, it seems like the magic of "Send It Up" may be recreated on Ye's impending project, as Louie shared a picture of himself and the McCartney-collaborating rapper on Instagram today. While there's no confirmation on what the two were up to in the lab, we're guessing that the collab will land in Kanye's hands rather than Louie's (but after "Nobody", who knows), so here's hoping it makes the final cut.

ARTWORK: Yo Gotti Announces "Concealed" Mixtape With DJ Drama

Yo Gotti Announces "Concealed" Mixtape With DJ Drama

Yo Gotti and DJ Drama will "Beyoncé" their new tape "Concealed" sometime this week.

Back in December, we published an article investigating the "Pulling a Beyoncé" phenomenon, the act of surprise-releasing projects that artists seem to do now more than ever. After D'Angelo pulled one with his phenomenal album Black Messiah, we were wondering who's be the next to do so, and now it appears that Yo Gotti and DJ Drama will be the culprits.
Making the announcement with Fader today, the pair say they plan to "Beyoncé" a new tape entitled Concealed sometime this week. They also shared the track "Real Rap" featuring Jadakiss and produced by Young Starz. Listen to it here.
Keep your eyes peeled for this.

Wale teams up with A-Trak to release his "Festivus" mixtape as a holdover for "The Album About Nothing"

DC native, MMG emcee Wale releases his latest project, Festivus with assistance from A-Trak. The Seinfeld influenced project is a holdover for Wale's upcoming album, The Album About Nothing, which now has a scheduled release date of March 31st.

Festivus includes features from Chance the RapperAb-Soul, ASAP Ferg,Pusha T, and Fat Trel, among others. Production includes frequent Wale collaborators Tone P, and Best Kept Secret.

NEWS: Pusha T Comes At Wale On Twitter Over "Festivus" Mixtape

Pusha T Comes At Wale On Twitter Over "Festivus" Mixtape

Pusha T calls out Wale for not letting him he hear his final verse on the "Festivus" mixtape, calling him his "rap friend" not his "real friend."

As you may know, Wale got in the holiday spirit with A-Trak and recorded a new mixtape to precede his upcoming Album About Nothing, called Festivus. The mixtape is scheduled to drop this afternoon, and the MMG rapper has already delivered two tracks off it, "The Chess Match" over the weekend and "Loyalty" with Drew Baby and Fat Trel last night.
It appears as though one of Wale's featured artists, Pusha T, is upset with the rapper for not letting him hear the final version of his contribution, on a track called "Drown." Pusha Ton calls out Wale using the hashtag: #WaleJustMyRapFriendNotMyRealFriend, and: #WaleTreatPushaLikeRegularFolk, as well as: #WaleRudeLikeTheBlogsSay.
The tweets started about thirty minutes ago, when Pusha tweeted at Wale, "Aye @wale why I gotta wait til 3:31? #Festivus I did my verse for #Drown and u ain't even let me hear final!! #WaleRudeLikeTheBlogsSay."
He continued to @ Wale in the tweets that followed. Check them all out below. Tune in at 3:31 PM for Pusha's verse and the rest of the Festivus mixtape.
