NEWS: XXXTENTACION Released From Jail

XXXTENTACION Released From Jail

XXXTENTACION was released from prison today.

XXXTENTACION is a free man again. Rumors started circulating online earlier today that the Florida sensation had already been released, which he later denied himself, but it turns out they were true. A few hours ago, XXXTENTACION took to twitter to confirm his release from prison, saying he was going to be on the radio in Miami tonight at 8 PM EST. He was also seen hanging out at the Gamestop store at Broward mall this afternoon as well (see photo below).
According to the court documents, the Florida rapper will still be on probation for both of his charges of armed home invasion and aggravated battery in Broward County, Florida. For what it’s worth, XXX also went ahead & changed his avi on Twitter to a picture of his probation card as well, which you can see for yourself below or in the gallery.
As for when we might hear new music is anyone's guess, but at least he's out!

NEWS: Ahead Of "More Life," Drake Hits Record 10 Billion Streams On Spotify

Ahead Of "More Life," Drake Hits Record 10 Billion Streams On Spotify

IT'S A CANADIAN TING EH!

Drake is going into his new release with a strong lead on the competition.

Drake has become the very first artist to earn 10 billion streams on Spotify. Much of that figure can be attributed to the Toronto rapper's 4th studio album VIEWS, which has achieved over 2 billion streams on its own, according to Forbes. "One Dance," which became Drizzy's very first Hot 100 no. 1 last year, has over 1 billion plays to its name.

The Forbes article predicts that another artist will hit the 10 billion milestone in a matter of time, though Drake is expected to be in the 15 or even 20 billion-stream range by then.

This news comes shortly before Drake will release his new project (which he has billed as a "playlist") More Life. The project is expected to be released on all major streaming services simultaneously, rather than exclusively on Apple Music, as the rapper has done in the past. In other words, Drizzy should be putting some big numbers up on Spotify as early as this evening.

Earlier today, Drake revealed a new flower tattoo inspired by More Life. Revisit the many events that led to the release of the highly anticipated project with our More Life story tag.
Drake recently became the first artist to reach 10 billion streams on Spotify. Rather than shared as an Apple Music exclusive as Drake has done in the past, More Life will be available across all major streaming services.

MOVIE NEWS: Sony Is Already Planning An El Chapo Movie

Sony Is Already Planning An El Chapo Movie

Sony is making a movie based on the book “Hunting El Chapo.”

While Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is currently sitting in an American prison for his ongoing criminal cases and his days as a criminal kingpin may be over, his time in the media is just beginning. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Sony has purchased the rights to an as-of-yet unnamed movie based around El Chapo’s life story.
The movie will be based on a book (which also hasn’t come out yet) called Hunting El Chapo: The Thrilling Inside Story of the American Lawman Who Captures The World’s Most-Wanted Drug Lord. We’re assuming the movie title will be less of a mouthful.
This movie isn’t the only thing currently in production about the former Sinaloa Cartel; Netflix and Univision have partnered to create a fictional drama series that will tell his thrilling story. The book comes out Oct. 17, so the movie is still a ways off.

FIGHT NEWS: UFC 209 Title Fight Cancelled Due To Khabib Nurmagomedov's Hospitilization

UFC 209 Title Fight Cancelled Due To Khabib Nurmagomedov's Hospitilization

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson called off for the third time.

Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0) was supposed to fight Tony Ferguson (22-3) at UFC 209 on Saturday night for the interim Lightweight title and the right to face Conor McGregor at some point later this year.
Unfortunately, Nurmagomedov was hospitalized just before weigh-ins last night due to an illness, and doctors have advised him to stay out of the octagon this weekend.
The fight was scheduled to co-headline UFC 209 along with the welterweight title fight between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson.
This marks the third time that Nurmagomedov and Ferguson have been forced to reschedule their fight. The first time Nurmagomedov had to pull out due to an injury and the second time Ferguson was unable to compete because of a lung injury.

NEWS: Nicki Minaj's Brother Says He Never Touched 12-Year-Old Victim Despite DNA Evidence

Nicki Minaj's Brother Says He Never Touched 12-Year-Old Victim Despite DNA Evidence

Jelani Maraj maintains his innocence, and his legal team wishes to expose the sexual history of the 12-year-old girl he's accused of raping. Last year, it was reported that his DNA matched with semen found on the girl's pants.

The legal team of Jelani Maraj, the 37-year-old brother of Nicki Minaj who's currently facing charges for allegedly raping and sodomizing a 12-year-old girl on multiple occasions, has filed a motion to ask the judge to give them access to evidence that might shed light upon the minor complainant's sexual history.
“Our firm has a good faith basis to believe that the complainant in this case has had intimate physical contact with a man who is not the defendant in this case and who is older than 17 years of age and who may have caused there to be physical evidence of repeated vaginal and anal penetration of the complainant,” Maraj’s lawyers, Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellan wrote, according to documents obtained by Bossip.
In addition to seeming evidence of vaginal and anal penetration, the court revealed there to be a match between Maraj's DNA and semen found on the victim's pants during a hearing in July. After revealing the evidence, the court put forth a plea deal, offering Maraj a sentence of 15 years to life in prison, which he declined.
Maraj faces charges of first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual encounter against a child. His lawyers have also asked the judge to toss out the top charge (first-degree rape), which carries with it a possible life sentence. They feel there is unconstitutional overlap between the two charges, reports Bossip.
Additionally, the lawyers have filed a motion to suppress evidence used against Maraj that was allegedly obtained with a "bad" warrant, enacted by reasonable cause instead of probable cause.
Nicki reportedly posted $100,000 in bail, putting up two of her properties, for her brother when he was arrested on a first-degree rape charge in December 2015. The accuser told police that Maraj had repeatedly raped and sodomized her in the period between April 1 and November 30, 2015. The most recent alleged assault took place one day before Maraj's arrest, according to the victim.
Maraj plead not guilty to the charges against him when he was indicted in April 2016.
“We believe the truth will come out," David Schwartz, Maraj’s lawyer, told Bossip yesterdaqy. “The complaining witness in the case and others have a real motive in this case to lie, this never occurred and Jelani is completely innocent.”
The case is headed to trial later this month.
Remy Ma references the case on "shETHER," her new Nicki Minaj diss track, with the following lines:
And I got a few words for the moms of the young Barbz
Guess who supports a child molester? Nicki Minaj
You paid for your brother’s wedding? That’s hella foul
How you spendin' money to support a pedophile?
He a walkin' dead man, sendin' threats to him
I guess that’s why they call you Barbie, you was next to Ken
Talkin’ about your money long and your foreign sick
Why you ain’t help your bro hide his cum from forensics?
You probably somewhere overseas, foreign sick
Thought you could fuck with me, by far Rem sick
Meek, Drake, Safaree, I see men in your pants
We call that Jelani, get it? Semen in your pants

NEWS: Spotify Has Reached 50 Million Subscribers

Spotify Has Reached 50 Million Subscribers

Your move, Apple Music.

Even though Spotify has been the largest streaming service for some time, but that hasn’t slowed down their growth. The Sweden-based company announced they had 30 million paying subscriber last March, and have already nearly doubled that in a year’s time according to yesterday's tweet announcement. So much for plateauing.

Meanwhile, Apple Music announced it had 20 million paying subscribers as of December of 2016, so even if they outpaced their earlier 1 million-per-month growth rate, they’d still be way behind Spotify. Of course, Apple Music has one thing Spotify does’t: money. Spotify hasn’t been profitable any year of its existence, and while Apple Music isn’t profitable either, they have their parent company Apple’s insane cash reserves to keep them going indefinitely.
Spotify has been rumored to be preparing to go public this year, which should greatly boost their cash reserves. They recently began testing a high fidelity lossless audio option to rival TIDAL’s.

Migos Perform "Bad And Boujee" And "T-Shirt" At Boiler Room

Migos and Lil Uzi Vert turn up at the Boiler Room's F is for FENDI party.

It's no wonder Migos stamped their imprint on American culture so fast. The trio knows what crowds want. The guys performed "T-Shirt" and "Bad and Boujee" at Boiler Room's F is for FENDI party. The party was held last month during New York Fashion Week.
With Metro Boomin as their special guest DJ, the three lit up the crowd with "T-Shirt." The crowd went wold when they then brought out Lil Uzi Vert for "Bad and Boujee." The group's fame and success have skyrocketed into the mainstream after Donald Glover shouted out their existence to a bewildered world at large during the Golden Globes ceremony.
Since then, their album Culture debuted at the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 charts. Meanwhile, Lil Uzi Vert has been touring with The Weeknd in Europe.
