NEWS: NY TEEN SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN PRISON FOR STEALING SNEAKERS

NY TEEN SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN PRISON FOR STEALING SNEAKERS
A teenager from Albany, New York has been sentenced to nine years in prison after he robbed another teen's sneakers; a story that has become all too familiar. 17 year-old Marquis Dixon was charged with first-degree robbery for the theft which took place last March- He was facing up to 25 years.
As the story goes;
In March, Marquis Dixon, 17, of Albany arranged through a posting on the social media site to buy the sneakers. When Dixon met the other 17-year-old, who lived in Coeymans, at a McDonald's parking lot on South Pearl Street at 9:30 p.m., he displayed what looked like a handgun and fled with the sneakers, District Attorney David Soares' office said. The other teen was unharmed.
Nine years for a pair of kicks! He should've spent more time worrying about what his barber was doing rather than trying to rip a kid off for a pair of Js.
In reality, it's a sad story but no matter how many times this kind of BS happens some people just don't learn that there are way more important things in life than owning a pair of sneakers that will make you look 'cool.'
