On Monday afternoon, Method Man announced that he’s dropping a new album later this Summer calledThe Meth Lab, which saw a Breaking Bad-theme artwork and trailer get released as well. Due out August 21, The Meth Lab will be released via Tommy Boy Entertainment and contain features from Raekwon,Redman, Inspectah Deck, Hanz On, Streetlife, and others.

Wasting little time, here goes the album’s title track featuring guest appearances from Handz On & Streetlife. Listen as Method cooks up some new heat for the fans. Track available on iTunes.

 Apple Reportedly Pulled Drake Away From Tidal

Looks like Drake was on board with Tidal until two days before the launch.

The first thought that went through many peoples minds when they saw the Tidal team standing on stage (after cracking an Illuminati joke, that is) was "where's Drake?". The rapper's absence was definitely noticed, but no direct explanation was ever given about whether or not he was approached to be a part of the project.

Turns out, Drizzy was on board to stand awkwardly among his peers that day, but according to Billboard, he dropped out a couple days before the announcement.

Now with news that the OVO rapper will be involved in Apple's upcoming streaming service, Drake's moves can be traced a little more clearly. Jay Zhad mentioned in an interview that Jimmy Iovine was approaching many of the same artists he was, and it seems Drake may have been swayed (not to mention, Pharrell). 

We'll keep you updated on what Drake will be doing as part of the service, but rumor has it he'll be contributing as an iTunes radio DJ.

Method Man Reveals "The Meth Lab" Artwork & Release Date

Method Man's new album is coming this summer.

When Method Man first announced The Meth Lab, it was to be presented as a mixtape and released back in March of this year. Those plans fell through, but the delay has allowed the project to be upgraded from a tape to a proper LP, so perhaps it was worth the wait after all.

Today, Meth shared the official artwork for the LP, as well as the release date. It'll be on its way August 21st through Tommy Boy Entertainment. 

The news came along with a Breaking Bad-inspired trailer for the album, which featured a preview of some promising new music from the OG.
