According to a study by The Economist, Toronto is the world’s best city to live in
A recent study by The Economist Intelligence Unit has named Toronto the best overall city to live in the world. The study examined the safety, livability, cost of living, business environment, democratic index, and global food security of 50 international cities. While Toronto didn’t score first in a single category, the overall average left Toronto on top, followed closely by fellow Canadian city Montreal. Stockholm, Amsterdam and San Francisco finished off the list’s top 5.
Toronto’s worst category was cost of living, falling into 77th place. Mumbai was named the top city in terms of cost of living, but scored poorly in all other regards.
Tokyo topped the list as the safest city, and Singapore won the title of best business environment.
