Bobby Shmurda Could Make Bail This Week
Bobby Shmurda may have a chance of getting out of jail this week.
As of yesterday, Bobby Shmurda has pleaded not guilty to all charges laid against him. While it seemed the rapper -- who was taken into custody in late 2014 for charges including gun possession, drug possession, and conspiracy -- would not make his $2 Million bail, new reports indicate that Shmurda could see release as early as this week.
According to Bossip, Bobby has bail bondsman Ira Judelson on his side. “At the end of the day, I’m their bank. I’m the one who is going to be putting up the money to secure their appearance in court,” said Judelson of his role in getting Shmurda out of jail and back in the studio. “Bobby is relying on me to put up the $2 million to get him out the door, get him back to his family and get his music career back on track.”
Bobby's attorney, Kenneth J. Montgomery, echoed the report in a statement issued to Complex, confirming that if all goes well, Bobby could be out in the next few days. "A 72 hour surety is attached and the package has to be examined by the Government," said Montgomery. "If approved he is released. If not a hearing would be scheduled to litigate any issues."
We'll keep you updated on any developments concerning the rapper's release.
