Beyonce Is Starting A Scholarship For Women Studying Arts, Music, Literature Or African-American Studies
Beyonce has chosen four schools to participate in her new scholarship program and Boston's Berklee College of Music is one of them.
The "Formation Scholars" awards will award scholarships to female students studying creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies at Berklee, Howard University in Washington D.C., Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and Parsons School of Design in New York City.
According to the announcement on Beyonce's website on Tuesday, the program is to "encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident."
Each year, a total of four scholarships will be awarded to students, one per school.
The scholarship program comes as part of the one-year anniversary celebration of "LEMONADE," Beyonce's latest release that earned her two Grammy awards in 2017.
